APC - 750VA Battery Back-Up System; Model: BE750G is the latest addition to my computer system. Several times this past year, we've lost power while my computer was up and running and caused me concern. This battery back-up system protects the computer system (and other plugged in items) and keeps it running for up to 70 minutes in the event of a power failure. It Features 10 outlets (5 battery backup plus surge, 5 surge only) with phone, fax, modem and DSL protection, master/controlled outlets automatically shut down idle equipment to conserve electricity, 354-joule rating PowerChute file-saving, auto shutdown software included, and a APC $75,000 lifetime equipment protection policy.

Well, back in April of 08 the operating system on my old computer "froze up" and the computer "Geek Squad" at Best Buy said that it would cost between $200 and $400 to fix and they couldn't guarentee anything. Having had enough with problems over the past year or so, I said the heck with it and bought a new computer. I must say that so far I am extremely pleased with this new system, though the hardest thing I've had to deal with has been learning the new Microsoft operating system, Windows Vista. The 22" monitor is just stunning.

HP Pavilion Elite m9250f - This computer has an Intel® Core™2 2.66GHz Quad Processor Q6700 w/8MB L2 Cache and a 1066MHz Front Side Bus; a Intel® G33 Express Chipset; 4096MB (4 x 1024MB) DDR2-SDRAM RAM Memory; two internal 500GB hard disk drives and is installed with Genuine Windows Vista® Home Premium 64-bit edition with Service Pack 1.

HP w2207h Monitor - This monitor has extreme resolution at 1680 x 1050 for bright, awesome graphic quality. It is perfect for videos, photo editing and gaming. It features full ergonomics with height adjustment, swivel and tilt; dual inputs support true digital (HDMI) and traditional analog (VGA) signals; brightView Technology provides brilliant picture quality; plus rotate from your regular view to portrait mode to view long documents or web pages.

Logitech MX610 Wireless Laser Mouse – After looking at literally dozens of ‘mice’, I finally decided not to buy any of the more expensive ones. The Logitech® MX™610 Laser Cordless Mouse offers excellent tracking on any surface, 2.4 GHz digital technology, extends battery life by syncing with your PC (it sleeps, wakes up, and shuts down when your PC does), detects and eliminates wireless interference, alerts you when the batteries are low, has e-mail and IM buttons that light up when you receive new messages, web-browsing forward/back buttons, a Tilt Wheel Plus Zoom™ (perfect for viewing digital photos) and has 5 programable buttons. I programmed two of them to do “cut & paste” and just love it. It also comes with a 5-year warranty and full product support.
For $47 I think it is a great deal! http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/US/EN

EPSON R380 Printer – I finally decided upon the EPSON R380. By far one of the cheapest printers at $129, it only cost me $59 more than buying two new ink cartridges for my old printer. So Far it has been amazing. The print quality is excellent. Using 6 ink cartridges, it can print a full color 8×10 boarderless print in about 3 minutes and 30 seconds. It also comes with a negative and slide scanning attachment. As it is a stand alone photo printer that can print directly from a camera’s storage card without a computer, the only negative was that it didn’t come with a USB cable. Western Digital 160GB My Book – This external hard drive is plug-n-play and comes with both a USB 2.0 or Firewire 400 connection. It automatically senses when your computer is shutting down and powers down automatically. It has a sleek design and is well ventilated. With twice the capacity of my old Maxtor drive plus many new features, and only a third of what I paid several years ago at only $99, it was a great buy. Epson Perfection V100 Photo Scanner – This scanner offers a nice, clean design. Four buttons give immediate access to Scan, PDF, E-Mail, and Copy. The cover pulls out neatly to accommodate wider materials. The V100 can scan up to letter-sized documents, and comes with an included insert for scanning film strips and slides.

Microsoft Zune 30GB - The Microsoft Zune has very good playback performance of audio, video, and photos; intuitive and colorful interface; good FM radio with RDS; works well with Zune Marketplace software; integrated wireless allows sharing of songs (limited) and photos; syncs with Podcasts; syncs with audio books; and has many accessories.
