05/20/2008 - Here is an update on this visit. Last night we were watching a segment of Antiques Roadshow, which as it just so happened, had been filmed in Las Vegas. As part of the show, they visited the Guggenheim-Herritage Museum and the same exhibit we went to this month. Here is the interesting part; they provided valuation estimates on several of the paintings in the collection. The Claude Monet in the upper left-hand corner has an estimated value of between $18-20 million dollars. The Vincent Van Gogh shown at the bottom left has an estimated value of between $35-40 million dollars. The Pablo Picasso at the middle left was estimated at between $60 and $100 million dollars. We had no idea when walking around and viewing these paintings that we were looking a a collection that was worth 100's of millions of dollars. Click on the picture below to view in full size.
