Cry of the Young

Our fellow Americans
we beseech thee
Through the love of God
and humanity
Pay heed our call for peace

Pick not upon the fact
that we
Are always the young
and the majority
Pay heed our call for peace

Though oft times slow
and sometimes hasty
Give us the time we need
to gain responsibility
Pay heed our call for peace

For us to admit these traits
is to admit our youth
Yet being proud as we are
we often avoid this truth
Pay heed our call for peace

Remember the fact that we
are a new breed
Trying to show the changes
that progress breeds
Pay heed our call for peace

Highly educated and well-informed
yet rebellious we are
With a generation of new ideas
we hope will go far
Pay heed our call for peace

We do not seek change
of your way of life
But rather to seperate the joys
from amongst the strife
Pay heed our call for peace

That a true sense of purpose
may we find
In our search for Love
towards all mankind
Pay heed our call for peace

Let our quest we pray forever be
the understanding of humanity
That we might build a better world
for both you and for me
Pay heed our call for peace
