Website Reviews: Feed2JS

Feed 2 Java Script (Feed2JS) code is Copyright (C) 2004 Alan Levine (Maricopa Community Colleges). It is available as both a free service and open source code from: http://jade.mcli.dist.maricopa.edu/feed/.

This is a great "quick and easy" program for formatting RSS feeds to show up the way you want on your website or blog page. An RSS Feed is a dynamically generated summary (in XML format) of information or news published on other web sites- so when the published RSS changes, your web site will be automatically changed too. Think of it as a box you define on your web or blog page that is able to update itself, whenever the source of the information changes, your web page does too, without you having to do a single thing to it. For bloggers, this works great for adding a sidebar section showing the Recent Posts to your blog.

It is a rather simple technology that allows you, the humble web page designer, to have this content displayed in your own web page, without having to know a lick about XML. This program is free software; you can redistribute it and/or modify it under the terms of the GNU General Public License as published by the Free Software Foundation; either version 2 of the License, or (at your option) any later version.
