Movie Review – “Knight & Day”

RELEASE: 2009; GENERE: Action/Adventure, Comedy; RUN-TIME: 1 hr, 50 mins; RATED: PG-13 for sequences of action violence throughout, and brief strong language

Movie - Knight & Day SYNOPSIS: An action-comedy centered on a fugitive couple (Cruise and Diaz) on a glamorous and sometimes deadly adventure where nothing and no one - even themselves - are what they seem. Amid shifting alliances and unexpected betrayals, they race across the globe, with their survival ultimately hinging on the battle of truth vs. trust.

REVIEW: This movie is barely saved from complete failure by Cruise's performance. He seems to be having fun and does his best to inject some verve into what is a lacking plot and some monotonous chase sequences. Cruise gets to do what he does best, namely flash his winning grin while leaping from a moving vehicle, guns blazing. Diaz gets to play to her strength, which is goofball romantic comedy. I never felt that the "chemistry" between them was very believable, however the comedy and action saves the day. We give it a weak [3-Stars].
