Movie Review - “Date Night”

RELEASE: 2010; GENERE: Action/Adventure - Comedy; RUN-TIME: 1 hr, 28 mins RATED: Rated: PG-13

Movie - Date Night SYNOPSIS: This is an action-comedy starring Steve Carell and Tina Fey  ("The 40 Year Old Virgin," "The Office") and Tina Fey ("Baby Mama," "30 Rock," "SNL") that turns a run-of-the-mill married couple's “date night” upside down.  They end up getting mistaken for a couple that has stolen a flash drive that contains some very incriminating evidence.

REVIEW: I thought that many of the comedy lines were cheap, stale and corny and that they overplayed their ‘embarrassing couple’ shtick far too early. Though I like Tina Fey and thought they worked well together as a couple, I thought it was over done. While Connie liked the movie and thought it was original and funny, I felt that it kind of fell flat.  Splitting the difference we gave it [3-Stars].
