Movie - The FighterREVIEW
:
The thing about boxing movies is that they're boxing movies, it's hard to create anything really different, yah? With that said, this film provides some rich performances by all concerned, wherein "the fighter"'s biggest fight is with his derelict and totally dysfunctional family. The performances of Wahlberg, Bale and Adams are so good that they make you believe you are watching real life being played out right before your eyes. I thought his mother, played by Melissa Leo, was outstanding. There is definitely some potential here for Academy Award nominations. I give it [4.5-Stars].

SYNOPSIS
:
Based upon a true story, it is a look at the early years of boxer "Irish" Micky Ward and his brother who helped train him before going pro in the mid '80s.
