One Win from Banner 17

As we attended an outdoor concert Thursday night, we had to tape the game which we watched with great interest the first thing this morning. Though it looked quite gloomy after the first quarter, the Celtics made one of the greatest combacks in NBA history.

Having trailed by as many as 24 points due to a strong first quarter start by the Lakers, the Celtics staged an epic rally to win the game 4, 97-91 and are now on the brink of their 17th NBA Championship as they lead the NBA Finals 3-1. Paul Pierce played lock-down defense on Kobe Bryant, holding him to just 17 points. Meanwhile, Pierce scored 15 of his 20 in the third quarter rally as the Celtic's cut an 18-point halftime deficit to just two points at the end of the third. They then outscored the Lakers 26-18 in the fourth to seal the win. The Celtics will try to close out the series and win the championship in L.A. Sunday night at Staples Center in Game 5.
