Pride and Glory

We saw this while we were at Laughlin for a little "mini" vacation. I thought it was just a little boring and hopelessly familiar corrupt cop story that probably would have appeared better if there wasn't the feeling that I've seen it before. However, it was a watchable cop thriller with strong performances and suitably gritty direction, but the climax gets bogged down in some embarrassingly awful cliches and the climactic duking it out in a bar called Irish Eyes with diddle-di-deedle-di music playing on the jukebox was just a little over the top, however almost unforgiveable. [We give it 2-3/4 Stars]

DESCRIPTION: A corruption scandal fractures a family of New York City cops in this generational drama about homicide detective Ray Tierney (Edward Norton), who's tasked with investigating a precinct run by his brother (Noah Emmerich). As if that weren't enough, Ray's fellow officer and best friend (Colin Farrell) may turn out to be dirty. Directed by Gavin O'Connor, the film features a high-octane supporting cast that includes Jon Voight and Jennifer Ehle.
