Movie Review - “Amelia”

Movie - Amelia
REVIEW: Based upon what we had seen in previews, we were looking forward to this movie, however, I must say we were somewhat disappointed. Though the aerial photography and the flying scenes were enjoyable, I think the main problem is the script, or lack of one. In lieu of a good script however, Swank’s performance is so good and gracious that it almost doesn’t matter if the movie isn’t much of a movie. Combined with her remarkable resemblance of Amelia, her consistent and cleverly recessive charisma is what finally gets this film off the ground, if only barely. We only give it [3-Stars]

SYNOPSIS: As the title portrays, the movie is about the rangy pioneer aviatrix Amelia Earhart, who went missing in 1937 while trying to circumnavigate the globe in her flying machine. Hilary Swank stars as the famed aviator in this dramatic biopic that follows the daring pilot's rise from obscurity in Kansas to her troubled marriage to businessman George Putnam (played by Richard Gere), who recruited her for her first transatlantic flight.
