Dining Review - “Daddy Mac’s”

Daddy Mac's 2
SYNOPSIS: This restaurant is located off Green Valley Parkway, just north of Sunset Blvd. When we walked into this office building, we were shocked to find an upscale restaurant. Once we saw the decor and the dimly-lit ambience, I was sure this place was going to break my wallet. However once we opened the menu we were relatively surprised at reasonable prices. The menu is mostly salads, appetizers, and burgers with a few limited entrees. My wife and I both had the BBQ Ribs which I had heard about, but no longer appeared on the menu. The waiter said that they had not been "selling well" so the owner took them off the menu, however that we could still get them. Our companion had a salad (extra) and the Shrimp Scampi. The salad looked very good and the scampi had plenty of shrimp, however could have had a bit more garlic.

REVIEW: The menu was somewhat limited, however one should remember that this is a bar and lounge type restaurant and as a result offer entertainment seven days a week, decent happy hours and special events including Texas hold'em tournaments on Sunday nights. I will admit that the ambiance makes you feel like you're on the top floor of a fancy hotel on the strip, instead of the ground floor of an office building in Green Valley. Each of us thought the food was very good but the service was the downer. Very, very slow. It also appears that consistency may be a problem. Probably due the the current state of the economy, they seem to be still tweaking the menu, so what you get today you may not be able to order tomorrow. The food was certainly good enough to make us want to try this place again, however they really need to work on the service.
