Dining Review - “Primarily Prime Rib”

Primarily Prime Rib
SYNOPSIS: Though we didn't try it, there was a shrimp cocktail with five large, succulent shrimp for only $8.95. For entrees we stuck with the prime rib because it's obviously the specialty of the house. A South Point cut ($13.95) was a sufficiently large slab (my guess would be around 8 ounces) of decently flavored meat. I ordered the "Blackened Cajun" style for $15.95. No, it didn't have a wealth of deep, well-aged flavor, but then again, it was $13.95 and perfectly acceptable. Each entree included a warm loaf of bread, soup (a standard split-pea) or salad and baked potato or rice pilaf. Salad was a pretty good bowl of mixed greens with some other vegetables tossed in. I chose the Caesar for an extra $1.00. Both were tossed tableside. ) The baked potato came with a generous amounts of whipped butter or sour cream and chives. Portions were so generous, that neither of us were able to order dessert.

REVIEW: Located inside the South Point Casino, Primarily Prime Rib is a pretty respectable restaurant, especially the prices. No, the prime rib didn't have a wealth of deep, well-aged flavor, but then again, it was $13.95 and perfectly acceptable. We both agreed that it was the most tender prime rib either of us have had since arriving in Vegas. I must admidt that I didn't particularily like the flavor of the Cajun spice on my Blackened prime rib. A 2-1 coupon made the meal a real bargain. A coupon or comp makes this restaurant a real gem.
