Movie Review - “Sherlock Holmes”

Movie - Sherlock Holmes

REVIEW: We actually found this film hard to review, but really couldn’t put our finger on it. At times it seemed like it was almost moving too fast. In fact it can almost be classified as an action film with a great mix of comedy that made for great entertainment. I guess I was surprised that R
obert Downy Jr., assisted by Jude Law as Watson was quite remarkable.  They both played off each other extremely well.  Even Mark Strong provided a strong performance as the villainous Lord Blackwood. Shot in England, the director did a fairly good job of blending live shots with CGI scenes to provide the feeling of an 1800’s era.   Overall it’s a good-looking film that is fun and comic, with fine performances from Law, Downey and, especially, Strong. In the end, there appeared to be enough loose ends to make a sequel.  I recommend you get to see it while it is still on the big screen.  We give it [3.5 Stars].

SYNOPSIS: In a dynamic new portrayal of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s most famous characters, “Sherlock Holmes” sends Holmes and his stalwart partner Watson on their latest challenge. Revealing fighting skills as lethal as his legendary intellect, Holmes will battle as never before to bring down a new nemesis and unravel a deadly plot that could destroy the country.
