I have been doing some research for a new camera and the Lumix G2 from Panasonic looks like a great contender for the price. Here are some key features at a glance.

Precision Design Spudz Microfiber Cleaning Cloth

This is an extremely compact lens cleaning cloth that every photographer should have. Even though it folds into a small 1" square Neoprene pouch that offers protection and storage for the microfiber cloth, it is surprisingly large (6" x6"). Another great feature is that the cloth stays attached to the inside of the pouch so you won't loose it. It safely cleans any scratch sensitive surface and is washable (hand wash with mild detergent). For only $2.99 it is a great buy.

LensPEN Lens Cleaning System

I purchased this lens cleaning system several months ago and love it. I actually keep it in a small draw-string bag attached to my camera strap so that it is always with me whenever I need it. The Lenspen contains two types of cleaners in one small package. A very good dust brush on one end for removing surface dust and an excellent cleaning wiper for fingerprints, smudges or dried moisture spots on the other. Its patented carbon formula effectively cleans amino acids from fingertips and other sources from optics and screens without damaging the surface. The last thing you want to do is take the chance of scratching your lens by using something not specifically designed for the task. Microsoft LifeCam Cinema

Though I pictured it as being much larger, this is a really small camera.  It appears well engineered, not cheap. It also comes with a really neat USB cable tie.

The top of the webcam contains the microphone as well as a small button that opens Windows Live Messenger.


There are only three main functions to the software and they simply let users record still shots, audio, and video. Once a clip is saved it appears in a timeline below where it can be deleted or exported to an editing program or to e-mail. The settings menu allows users to change resolutions and color and focus settings, but we found setting adjustments to be unneeded. The autofocus works as promised on the LifeCam Cinema, and the lag time between refocuses is very small.

It provides a very clear picture with good contrast and is fantastic in low light.

It's a 16:9 camera, and it has a nice wide field of view.

It is by far the best webcam that I have ever owned!  At its price point I would consider this webcam to be a bargain.  I recommend it to anyone looking for a webcam to share viewing with others.
