Standing up on Immigration

My great grandfather watched as his friends died in the Civil War, my father watched as his friends died in WW II, and I watched as my friends died in Vietnam . None of them died for the Mexican Flag.  Everyone died for the US flag. 

Recently in Texas , a student raised a Mexican flag on a school flag pole; another student took it down.  Guess who was expelled...the kid who took it down.  Kids in high school in California were sent home on Cinco de Mayo because they wore T-shirts with the American flag printed on them. 

Enough is enough. 

The below e-mail message needs to be viewed by every American; and every American needs to stand up for America .  We've bent over to appease the America-haters long enough. 

I'm taking a stand.

I'm standing up because the hundreds of thousands who died fighting in wars for this country, and for the US flag can't stand up.  And shame on anyone who tries to make this a racist message.

Why I Just Love Doctors

Back on the 28th of July, I went out on the Internet to my prescription drug mail order site to order some refills of my drugs only to find out that all three of the prescriptions had expired.  I simply clicked on a “button” and requested Medco to send a prescription request to my local doctor.

After a couple of days, I received one of the three, the one I needed the least, in the mail and just assumed that the other two would follow shortly.  We then left for a week in Lake Tahoe.  Upon my return I received a call from my doctor of six years, saying that they needed me to come in for a blood test and checkup.  I still had not received the other two prescriptions.

On August 24th I arrived at 9:05 for my scheduled 9:15 appointment.  There were only two people in the waiting room. I gave the receptionist my name and signed the log and started to take a seat when she said that she was unable to verify my insurance.  I told her that I would know why that would be as nothing had changed in the past 13 years.  She requested that I show her my insurance card, which I supplied.  She took down the information and I continued to take a seat.

After 15 minutes she called me up to the counter again and told me I had to fill out new paperwork for her to update her files.  I scanned it and told her that nothing being requested had changed.  She said that I hadn’t been in for 16 months and that I needed to fill it out.  I told her again that everything in the computer was up-to-date and told her it was a waste of my time for me to complete it.  In large letters I penned “the same” across the form, signed, dated it and handed it back to her.  She seemed quite “put off” by this. I returned to my seat. 

At 9:50, after watching eight new arrivals enter the waiting area and be called into the “back”, I went to the front desk and asked why I was not being seen.  She said she would have to check it out and started pounding away on the keyboard.  She said that after the next examining room  opened up, that I should be next.  I stated that I should have been next after the second person was admitted after I arrived. Five minutes later I was called to the back where a nurse weighed me, took my vitals, led me to an examining room, and told me that the doctor would be right in.

15 minutes later, the doctor entered the room and asked how I was doing.  I replied quite bored at having to wait an hour and ten minutes just so he could send me for a blood test.  His comment was, “Is that what you are here for?”  I replied, “You don’t know, you are the one who refused to renew two of my prescriptions and scheduled me?”

He checked my ears, listened to me breathe in and out and then asked if I had fasted.  I told him, “Naturally, that what I was told to do when his office called to remind me of the appointment.”  He said he would have his nurse come in and draw my blood and that he would tell them “up front” to renew my prescriptions, and to check with them on the way out.

After another five minutes the nurse came in and drew my blood. When I checked with the front desk about my prescriptions, I was handed paperwork to take to a pharmacy.  I told her that I always get them filled by mail order and that they should already have the request that was sent from the mail order pharmacy two weeks ago.  She said she couldn’t find it, but said she would fax them to Medco.  I asked specifically if it would be done today, noting that two of them had already run out.  She said it would.

Two days later, I checked online with Medco and found out that the prescriptions had never been sent.  The next morning, now Thursday,  I called the doctors office and told them that they had yet to renew my prescriptions.  Someone looked it up on the computer and said that they would do it right away.  I noted that I have now been without two of these prescriptions nearly weeks and that this was supposed to have been done on Monday.  She said she would make sure it went out today.

When I checked the site today, it said that the order had been received, but that the estimated ship date was September 2nd.  With a three-day mail time that means I might get them by the  5th of September – No, wait, we are only getting mail delivered 5 days a week now due to cutbacks in postal service, and that’s also Labor Day weekend.  That means I probably will not get them until September 7th.  ONLY 42 days after I first requested them!

U.S Oil Reserves?

Here's an interesting read that someone sent me via email.  It this is true, it is most disturbing.

“Also if I may add, about 6 months ago I was watching a news program on oil and one of the Forbes brothers was the guest. This is out of context, but this is the actual question as asked. The host said to Forbes, "I am going to ask you a direct question and I would like a direct answer, how much oil does the U.S. have in the ground." Forbes did not miss a beat, he said, "more than all the Middle East put together." Please read below.

The U. S. Geological Service issued a report in April ('08) that only scientists and oil men knew was coming, but man was it big.  It was a revised report (hadn't been updated since '95) on how much oil was in this area of the western 2/3 of North Dakota ;  western South Dakota ; and extreme eastern Montana .... check THIS out:

The Bakken is the largest domestic oil discovery since Alaska 's Prudhoe Bay , and has the potential to eliminate all American dependence on foreign oil. The Energy Information Administration (EIA) estimates it at 503 billion barrels. Even if just 10% of the oil is recoverable... at $107 a barrel, we're looking at a resource base worth more than $5.3 trillion.

'When I first briefed legislators on this, you could practically see their jaws hit the floor. They had no idea..' says Terry Johnson, the Montana Legislature's financial analyst.

'This sizable find is now the highest-producing onshore oil field found in the past 56 years' reports, The Pittsburgh Post Gazette.  It's a formation known as the Williston Basin , but is more commonly referred to as the 'Bakken.'  And it stretches from Northern Montana, through North Dakota and into Canada .  For years, U. S. oil exploration has been considered a dead end.  Even the 'Big Oil' companies gave up searching for major oil wells decades ago.  However, a recent technological breakthrough has opened up the Bakken's massive reserves.... and we now have access of up to 500 billion barrels.  And because this is light, sweet oil, those billions of barrels will cost Americans just $16 PER BARREL!

That's enough crude to fully fuel the American economy for 2041 years straight.

James Bartis, lead researcher with the study says we've got more oil in this very compact area than the entire Middle East -more than 2 TRILLION barrels untapped.  That's more than all the proven oil reserves of crude oil in the world today, reports The Denver Post.

If you are stupid enough to think 'OPEC' will drop its price - even with this find?  Think again!  It's all about how much oil is on the world market at any one time. Could OPEC  be funding the environmentalists? Think again!!!

WOW! WHAT A LETTER !

I received this unsigned letter in an email that said it was written by a housewife from New Jersey.  Whoever it was, they should have signed it. I couldn’t agree more! 

“Are we fighting a war on terror or aren't we? Was it or was it not started by Islamic people who brought it to our shores on September 11, 2001? Were people from all over the world, mostly Americans, not brutally murdered that day, in downtown Manhattan, across the Potomac from our nation's capitol and in a field in Pennsylvania? Did nearly three thousand men, women and children die a horrible, burning or crushing death that day, or didn't they? And I'm supposed to care that a copy of the Koran was 'desecrated' when an overworked American soldier kicked it or got it wet? ... Well, I don't. I don't care at all.

I'll start caring when Osama bin Laden turns himself in and repents for incinerating all those innocent people on 9/11. I'll care about the Koran when the fanatics in the Middle East start caring about the Holy Bible, the mere possession of which is a crime in Saudi Arabia.  I'll care when these thugs tell the world they are sorry for chopping off Nick Berg's head while Berg screamed through his gurgling slashed throat. I'll care when the cowardly so-called 'insurgents' in Iraq come out and fight like men instead of disrespecting their own religion by hiding in mosques. I'll care when the mindless zealots who blow themselves up in search of nirvana care about the innocent children within range of their suicide.  I'll care when the American media stops pretending that their First Amendment liberties are somehow derived from international law instead of the United States Constitution's Bill of Rights.

In the meantime, when I hear a story about a brave marine roughing up an Iraqi terrorist to obtain information, know this: I don't care. When I see a fuzzy photo of a pile of naked Iraqi prisoners who have been humiliated in what amounts to a college-hazing incident, rest assured: I don't care. When I see a wounded terrorist get shot in the head when he is told not to move because he might be booby-trapped, you can take it to the bank: I don't care. When I hear that a prisoner, who was issued a Koran and a prayer mat, and fed 'special' food that is paid for by my tax dollars, is complaining that his holy book is being 'mishandled,' you can absolutely believe in your heart of hearts: I don't care.

And oh, by the way, I've noticed that sometimes it's spelled 'Koran' and other times 'Quran.' Well, Jimmy Crack Corn and-you guessed it-I don't care!!  

And may I add: 'Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference in the world. But, the Marines don't have that problem' -- Ronald Reagan.  I have another quote that I would like to add, 'If we ever forget that we're One Nation Under God, then we will be a nation gone under' -also by -- Ronald Reagan.

One last thought for the day: In case we find ourselves starting to believe all the Anti-American sentiment and negativity, we should remember England 's Prime Minister Tony Blair's words during a recent interview. When asked by one of his Parliament members why he believes so much in America , he said: 'A simple way to take measure of a country is to look at how many want in.. And how many want out.'

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you: 1.. Jesus Christ. 2. The American G. I.. One died for your soul, the other for your freedom. Too many people seem to forget both of them. AMEN!

Love him or loathe him, he nailed this one right on the head...........

“I think the vast differences in compensation between victims of the September 11 casualty and those who die serving our country in Uniform are profound No one is really talking about it either, because you just don't criticize anything having to do with September 11 Well, I can't let the numbers pass by because it says something really disturbing about the entitlement mentality of this country. If you lost a family member in the September 11 attack, you're going to get an average of $1,185,000. The range is a minimum guarantee of $250,000, all the way up to $4.7 million. If you are a surviving family member of an American soldier killed in action, the first check you get is a $6,000 direct death benefit, half of which is taxable.

Next, you get $1,750 for burial costs. If you are the surviving spouse, you get $833 a month until you remarry. And there's a payment of $211 per month for each child under 18. When the child hits 18, those payments come to a screeching halt.

Keep in mind that! some of the people who are getting an average of $1.185 million up to $4.7 million are complaining that it's not enough. Their deaths were tragic, but for most, they were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. Soldiers put themselves in harms way FOR ALL OF US, and they and their families know the dangers. (Actually, soldiers are put in harms way by politicians and commanding officers.)

We also learned over the weekend that some of the victims from the   Oklahoma City bombing have started an organization asking for the same deal that the September 11 families are getting. In addition to that, some of the families of those bombed in the embassies are now asking for compensation as well.

You see where this i s going, don't you? Folks, this is part and parcel of over 50 years of entitlement politics in this country. It's just really sad. Every time a pay raise comes up for the military, they usually receive next to nothing of a raise. Now the green machine is in combat in the Middle East while their families have to survive on food stamps and live in low-rent housing. Make sense?

However, our own US Congress voted themselves a raise. Many of you don't know that they only have to be in Congress one time to receive a pension that is more than $15,000 per month. And most are now equal to being millionaires plus. They do not receive Social Security on retirement because they didn't have to pay into the system.  If some of the military people stay in for 20 years and get out as an E-7, they may receive a! pension of $1,000 per month, and the very people who placed them in harm's way receives a pension of $15,000 per month.

I would like to see our elected officials pick up a weapon and join ranks before they start cutting out benefits and lowering pay for our sons and daughters who are now fighting.”  by Rush Limbaugh

The "Real" Economy Heads South

"Everyone has been acutely focused on Washington — specifically, if and how the financial industry will get bailed out. The Senate voted to approve a revised $700-billion bailout package, one that's packed with all kinds of fresh pork and new tax cuts. And it looks like the House may finally get on board, too. But the real fireworks aren't in D.C. — they're in the REAL economy. It's looking like a total disaster in the making. Just consider what we learned this week:

• The research firm S&P/Case-Shiller reported that home prices in 20 top metropolitan areas dropped 16.3% from a year ago in July. That was worse than the prior month, when they fell 15.9%, and the biggest drop on record.
• Mortgage applications plunged in the week ended September 26, according to the Mortgage Bankers Association. The purchase index dropped 10.9% from the previous week, while the refinance index tanked 34.7%. At 304.8, the purchase index is the lowest since February 2002.
• The outplacement firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas counted 95,094 job cut announcements in September. That was up more than 7% from August and up 33% from a year earlier.
• Auto sales are down sharply, and industry layoffs are rising ... The layoffs aren't just concentrated at banks and brokers anymore, either. Computer industry players led the list of announced cuts (25,700). Automotive firms were next at just under 15,000, with apparel companies (8,350) and financials (8,244) right behind. Auto sales plunged 27% in September at the six largest automakers. Ford's sales were down a whopping 35%, while Chrysler sales dropped 33%. Car and truck sales have now fallen 11 months in a row, the worst stretch of declines in 17 years.
• The latest personal spending figures from the government showed zero growth in August. Besides this February, we haven't seen a monthly reading that pathetic since September 2006.
• The ISM manufacturing index plunged to 43.5 in September. That was down from 49.9 in August, well below the forecast for a reading of 49.5, and the worst reading since October 2001. Sub-indices that measure new orders, employment and production all tanked.

I could go on, but I think you get the picture ... This is no longer just a housing crisis. It is no longer just a financial crisis. It's a full-scale economic crisis! What's happening as a result? Earnings and sales problems, which were once concentrated in financial firms, are now spreading everywhere. The same tech stocks Wall Street called "safe" (because they weren't in the finance sector) are starting to tank. The big industrials are rolling over. The transports are breaking down left and right. And the bad corporate earnings news is piling up.

Yes, the various government programs to help refinance borrowers out of crummy mortgages — and the $700-billion bailout program — may help a subsector of consumers and banks out there.
But they are not a cure-all. They could actually drive interest rates higher. And even if they manage to forestall some credit market pain, or rescue a few banks from failure, they won't be able to offset the increasing economic pressures being brought to bear on mainstream America."

Palin’s Words Raise Red Flags

The country is understandably focused on the financial crisis. But there is another serious issue in front of us that is not getting nearly enough attention, and that’s whether Sarah Palin is qualified to be vice president — or, if the situation were to arise, president of the United States. History has shown again and again that a vice president must be ready to assume command of the ship of state on a moment’s notice. But Ms. Palin has given no indication yet that she is capable of handling the monumental responsibilities of the presidency if she were called upon to do so.

In fact, the opposite is the case. We know that there are some parts of Alaska from which, if the day is clear and your eyesight is good, you can actually see Russia. But the infantile repetition of this bit of trivia as some kind of foreign policy bona fide for a vice presidential candidate should give us pause.

The McCain campaign has done its bizarre best to shield Ms. Palin from any sustained media examination of her readiness for the highest offices in the land, and no wonder. She has been an embarrassment in interviews. But the idea that the voters of the United States might install someone in the vice president’s office who is too unprepared or too intellectually insecure to appear on, say, “Meet the Press” or “Face the Nation” is mind-boggling. The alarm bells should be clanging and warning lights flashing. You wouldn’t put an unqualified pilot in the cockpit of a jetliner. The potential for catastrophe is far, far greater with an unqualified president.

The United States has been lucky in terms of the qualifications of the vice presidents who have had to step in over the last several decades for presidents who either died or, in Richard Nixon’s case, were forced to leave office. Harry Truman and Lyndon Johnson became extraordinary presidents in their own right. Gerald Ford successfully guided the nation through the immediate aftermath of one of the most traumatic political crises in its history.

For those who think Sarah Palin is in that league, there is no problem. But her unscripted public appearances would lead most honest observers to think otherwise. When asked again this week about her puerile linkage of foreign policy proficiency and Alaska’s proximity to Russia, this time by Katie Couric of CBS News, here is what Ms. Palin said she meant: “That Alaska has a very narrow maritime border between a foreign country, Russia, and on our other side, the land — boundary that we have with — Canada.”

She went on, but lost her way mid sentence: “It’s funny that a comment like that was kind of made to — cari — I don’t know, you know? Reporters ...” Ms. Couric said, “Mocked?” “Yeah, mocked,” said Ms. Palin. “I guess that’s the word. Yeah.” It is not just painful, but frightening to watch someone who could become the vice president of the United States stumbling around like this in an interview.

Ms. Couric asked Ms. Palin to explain how Alaska’s proximity to Russia “enhances your foreign policy credentials.” “Well, it certainly does,” Ms. Palin replied, “because our, our next-door neighbors are foreign countries, there in the state that I am the executive of. And there—” Gently interrupting, Ms. Couric asked, “Have you ever been involved in any negotiations, for example, with the Russians?” “We have trade missions back and forth,” said Ms. Palin. “We do. It’s very important when you consider even national security issues with Russia. As Putin rears his head and comes into the airspace of the United States of America, where do they go? It’s Alaska. It’s just right over the border. It is from Alaska that we send those out to make sure that an eye is being kept on this very powerful nation, Russia, because they are right there. They are right next to our state.”

It was surreal, the kind of performance that would generate a hearty laugh if it were part of a Monty Python sketch. But this is real life, and the stakes couldn’t be higher. As Ms. Palin was fumbling her way through the Couric interview, the largest bank failure in the history of the United States, the collapse of Washington Mutual, was occurring.

The press has an obligation to hammer away at Ms. Palin’s qualifications. If it turns out that she has just had a few bad interviews because she was nervous or whatever, additional scrutiny will serve her well. If, on the other hand, it becomes clear that her performance, so far, is an accurate reflection of her qualifications, it would behoove John McCain and the Republican Party to put the country first — as Mr. McCain loves to say — and find a replacement for Ms. Palin on the ticket. Sure she may have gained back some credibility in the vice presidential debate of this past week, however, one must remember, that 90% of what she espoused was rehearsed over and over. That she refused to answer direct questions 16 times. That she still tried to sell herself by using the folksy, socker mom type talk. I still agree with Mr. Herbert that she is not potential presidential material.

This letter has been circulating for a couple days now, and I thought I’d post it in full for those who haven’t had a chance to read it. One of the best ways to become informed about local politics is by attending city council/assembly meetings. I know this from mind-numbing, clock-staring, experience. There’s no substitute for butt-in-the-chair observation, no matter how awful it is to sit for hours on end listening to a bunch of bloviating local politicians. But it’s difficult not to show who you are.

This letter is written by someone who knows Sarah Palin, lives in Wasilla, and has city council lurker cred. (There ought to be a badge for that.) I think that babygate is on the way out of the news cycle, and the next aspect of her life to come under scrutiny will be her tenure as mayor. This is a good place to start. And thanks to Anne Kilkenny for speaking out.

Wasilla is a small town. It takes a certain amount of conviction and downright bravery to lay it all out there like this. So a hat tip and a big sweeping bow to Anne.

I am a resident of Wasilla, Alaska. I have known Sarah since 1992. Everyone here knows Sarah, so it is nothing special to say we are on a first-name basis. Our children have attended the same schools. Her father was my child’s favorite substitute teacher. I also am on a first name basis with her parents and mother-in-law.

I attended more City Council meetings during her administration than about 99% of the residents of the city. She is enormously popular; in every way she’s like the most popular girl in middle school. Even men who think she is a poor choice and won’t vote for her can’t quit smiling when talking about her because she is a “babe”. Read the rest of the letter

Inside America's Toughest Jail - I Love It!

TO THOSE OF YOU NOT FAMILIAR WITH JOE ARPAIO, HE IS THE MARICOPA ARIZONA COUNTY SHERIFF AND HE KEEPS GETTING! ELECTED OVER AND OVER. HERE ARE SOME OF THE REASONS WHY:

HIGH above the Arizona desert, a pink neon sign flashes the word “vacancy” from a watch tower manned by armed guards. Surrounded by 25ft barbed wire fences, this is the welcome offered by America’s toughest jail — Tent City in Phoenix. Inside, nearly 1,000 prisoners live in army surplus tents, baking in temperatures of 122°F (50°C) in summer and freezing during winter. No matter how many criminals are locked up here, the vacancy sign is never turned off. Instead, if prisoner numbers increase, jail supremo Sheriff Joe Arpaio simply orders extra tents. He says: “I will build tents to house 100,000 people before I ever let anybody out of jail early. If I have to, I will put up tents from here to Mexico.”

Maricopa County was spending approx. $18 million dollars a year on stray animals, like cats and dogs. Sheriff Joe offered to take the department over, and the County Supervisors said okay. The animal shelters are now all staffed and operated by prisoners. They feed and care for the strays. Every animal in his care is taken out and walked twice daily. He now has prisoners who are experts in animal nutrition and behavior. They give great classes for anyone who'd like to adopt an animal. He has literally taken stray dogs off the street, given them to the care of prisoners, and had them place in dog shows. The best part? His budget for the entire department is now under $3 million.

I have long wondered when the rest of the country would take a look at the way he runs the jail system, and copy some of his ideas. He has a huge farm, donated to the county years ago, where inmates can work, and they grow most of their own fresh vegetables and food, doing all the work and harvesting by hand. He has a pretty good sized hog farm, which provides meat, and fertilizer. It fertilizes the Christmas tree nursery, where prisoners work, and you can buy a living Christmas tree for $6 - $8 for the Holidays, and plant it later.

Yup, he was reelected last year with 83% of the vote. Now he's in trouble with the ACLU again. He painted all his buses and vehicles with a mural, that has a special hot line phone number painted on it, where you can call and report suspected illegal aliens. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement wasn't doing enough in his eyes, so he had 40 deputies trained specifically for enforcing immigration laws, started up his hot line, and bought 4 new buses just for hauling folks back to the border. He's kind of a 'Git-R Dun' kind of Sheriff.

He has jail meals down to 40 cents a serving and charges the inmates for them. He stopped smoking and porno magazines in the jails. Took away their weights, and cut off all but 'G' movies. He started chain gangs so the inmates could do free work on county and city projects. Then he started chain gangs for women so he wouldn't get sued for discrimination. He took away cable TV Until he found out there was a federal court order that required cable TV for jails, so he hooked up the cable TV again only let in the Disney channel and the weather channel. On one extremely hot day, hundreds of men wearing boxers were either curled up on their bunk beds or chatted in the tents, which reached 138 degrees inside. 'It feels like we are in a furnace ,' Said James Zanzot, an inmate who has lived in the TENTS for 1 year. 'It's Inhumane.' Joe Arpaio, the tough-guy sheriff who created the tent city and long ago started making his prisoners wear pink, and eat bologna sandwiches, is not one bit sympathetic. About complaints of the heat he told all of the inmates:! 'It's 120 degrees in Iraq and our soldiers are living in tents too, and they have to wear full battle gear, but they didn't commit any crimes, so shut your mouths!'

Way to go, sheriff! Maybe if all prisons were like this one there would be a lot less crime and/or repeat offenders. Criminals should be punished for their crimes - not live in luxury until it's time for their parole, only to go out and commit another crime so they can get back in to live on taxpayers money and enjoy things taxpayers can't afford to have for themselves.

McCain Picks Gov. Sarah Palin

Here is what I, and I think every half intelegent American thinks about McCains pick of Gov. Sarah Palin. This is was published the New York times by PETER BAKER: August 29, 2008:

Why I'm Against Welfare

1. Regarding the identity of the father of my twins, Makeeshia was fathered by Maclearndon McKinley. I am unsure as to the identity of the father of Marlinda, but I believe that she was conceived on the same night.

2. I am unsure, as to the identity of the father of my child as I was being sick out of a window when taken unexpectedly from behind. I can provide you with a list of names of men that I think were at the party, if this helps.

3. I do not know the name of the father of my little girl. She was conceived at a party at 3600 East Grand Boulevard, where I had sex with a man I met that night. I do remember that the sex was so good that I fainted. If you do manage to track down the father, can you please send me his phone number? Thanks.

Speaking Out Against the Muslim Student's Association

The story begins at Michigan State University with a mechanical engineering professor named Indrek Wichman. Wichman sent an e-mail to the Muslim Student's Association. The e-mail was in response to the students' protest of the Danish cartoons that portrayed the Prophet Muhammad as a terrorist. The group had complained the cartoons were 'hate speech'. Enter Professor Wichman. In his e-mail, he said the following:

"Dear Moslem Association, as a professor of Mechanical Engineering here at MSU I intend to protest your protest. I am offended not by cartoons, but by more mundane things like beheadings of civilians, cowardly attacks on public buildings, suicide murders, murders of Catholic priests (the latest in Turkey ), burnings of Christian churches, the continued persecution of Coptic Christians in Egypt , the imposition of Sharia law on non-Muslims, the rapes of Scandinavian girls and women (called 'whores' in your culture), the murder of film directors in Holland, and the rioting and looting in Paris France.

This is what offends me, a soft-spoken person and academic, and many, many of my colleagues. I counsel you dissatisfied, aggressive, brutal, and uncivilized slave-trading Moslems to be very aware of this as you proceed with your infantile 'protests.' If you do not like the values of the West - see the 1st Amendment - you are free to leave. I hope for God's sake that most of you choose that option. Please return to your ancestral homelands and build them up yourselves instead of troubling Americans."

As you can imagine, the Muslim group at the university didn't like this too well. They're demanding that Wichman be reprimanded and the university impose mandatory diversity training for faculty and mandate a seminar on hate and discrimination for all freshmen. Now the local chapter of CAIR has jumped into the fray. CAIR, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, apparently doesn't believe that the good professor had the right to express his opinion. For its part, the university is standing its ground in support of Professor Wichman,
saying the e-mail was private, and they don't intend to publicly condemn his remarks.

General Eisenhower Warned Us

It is a matter of history that when Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces, General Dwight Eisenhower, found the victims of the death camps he ordered all possible photographs to be taken, and for the German people from surrounding villages to be ushered through the camps and even made to bury the dead.

He did this because he said in words to this effect: 'Get it all on record now - get the films - get the witnesses -because somewhere down the road of history someone will get up and say that this never happened'

This week, the UK removed The Holocaust from its school curriculum because it 'offended' the Muslim population which claims it never occurred. This is a frightening portent of the fear that is gripping the world and how easily each country is giving into it. It is now more than 60 years after the Second World War in Europe ended. This e-mail is being sent as a memorial chain, in memory of the, 6million Jews, 20 million Russians, 10 million Christians and 1,900 Catholic priests who were 'murdered, raped, burned, starved, beat, experimented on and humiliated' while the German people looked the other way! Now, more than ever, with Iran, among others, claiming the Holocaust to be 'a myth,' it is imperative to make sure the world never forgets.

How many years will it be before the attack on the World Trade Center, 'NEVER HAPPENED' because it offends some Muslim in the U.S.??????

What is Las Vegas?

A place. An idea. A stereotype. And, for those of us who happen to live here, a city that defines us in ways we probably don't even realize.
Las Vegas is a place steeped in contradiction and shaped, either subtly or overtly, by both natural and man-made forces that, in turn, shape us.
That's why we batted around this question: What are the basic forces -- things, ideas, conditions -- that define Las Vegas and make it different from any other place in the world?
Here are our conclusions. We don't pretend that our conclusions are the final word. Feel free to do some batting around of your own.

THE DESERT
Las Vegas is shaped in large part by the desert. The heat, dryness and wind have challenged everyone from the earliest American Indian inhabitants to the Mormons who settled here to everybody who has since passed through, visited or come to stay.
"We've perfected the art of going from air-conditioned room to air-conditioned room," jokes Michael Green, a history professor at the College of Southern Nevada.
For many Southern Nevadans, summer here is akin to winter in the country's colder climes: Dig in and wait for it to end. But that attitude, notes David G. Schwartz, director of the Center for Gaming Research at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, "leads to a culture that's less communal, because people spend less time outdoors, and I think people kind of turn inward."
The harsh summer climate also creates a "privatization of public spaces," Schwartz adds. "You're not going to stroll around the park. You're going to be inside of a mall."
Living in the desert "requires that we adapt to it," Green says. "That has its good side -- solar energy is becoming more important -- and it has its bad side. Look at the water we've wasted trying to create the front lawns that we had in the communities we moved here from."

Who Is Obama by Ken Blackwell

It's an amazing time to be alive in America. We're in a year of firsts in this presidential election: the first viable woman candidate; the first viable African-American candidate; and, a candidate who is the first front running freedom fighter over 70. The next president of America will be a first.

We won't truly be in an election of firsts, however, until we judge every candidate by where they stand. We won't arrive where we should be until we no longer talk about skin color or gender.

Now that Barack Obama steps to the front of the Democratic field, we need to stop talking about his race, and start talking about his policies and his politics.

Some pundits are calling him the next John F. Kennedy. He's not. He's the next George McGovern. And it's time people learned the facts. Because the truth is that Mr. Obama is the single most liberal senator in the entire US Senate. He is more liberal than Ted Kennedy, Bernie Sanders, or Mrs. Clinton. Never in my life have I seen a presidential front-runner whose rhetoric is so far removed from his record. Walter Mondale promised to raise our taxes, and he lost. George McGovern promised military weakness, and he lost. Michael Dukakis promised a liberal domestic agenda, and he lost. Yet Mr. Obama is promising all those things, and he's not behind in the polls. Why? Because the press has dealt with him as if he were in a beauty pageant.

Mr. Obama talks about getting past party, getting past red and blue, to lead the United States of America. But let's look at the more defined strokes of who he is underneath this superficial "beauty."

Start with national security, since the president's most important duties are as commander-in-chief. Over the summer, Mr. Obama talked about invading Pakistan, a nation armed with nuclear weapons; meeting without preconditions with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who vows to destroy Israel and create another Holocaust; and Kim Jong II, who is murdering and starving his people, but emphasized that the nuclear option was off the table against terrorists - something no president has ever taken off the table since we created nuclear weapons in the 1940s. Even Democrats who have worked in national security condemned all of those remarks. Mr. Obama is a foreign-policy novice who would put our national security at risk.

Next, consider economic policy. For all its faults, our health care system is the strongest in the world. And free trade agreements, created by Bill Clinton as well as President Bush, have made more goods more affordable so that even people of modest means can live a life that no one imagined a generation ago. Yet Mr. Obama promises to raise taxes on "the rich." How to fix Social Security? Raise taxes. How to fix Medicare? Raise taxes. Prescription drugs? Raise taxes. Free college? Raise taxes. Socialize medicine? Raise taxes. His solution to everything is to have government take it over. Big Brother on steroids, funded by your paycheck.

Finally, look at the social issues. Mr. Obama had the audacity to open a stadium rally by saying, "All praise and glory to God!" but says that Christian leaders speaking for life and marriage have "hijacked" - hijacked - Christianity. He is pro-partial birth abortion, and promises to appoint Supreme Court justices who will rule any restriction on it unconstitutional. He espouses the abortion views of Margaret Sanger, one of the early advocates of racial cleansing. His spiritual leaders endorse homosexual marriage, and he is moving in that direction. In Illinois, he refused to vote against a statewide ban - ban - on all handguns in the state. These are radical left, Hollywood, and San Francisco values, not Middle America values.

The real Mr. Obama is an easy target for the general election. Mrs. Clinton is a far tougher opponent. But Mr. Obama could win if people don't start looking behind his veneer and flowery speeches. His vision of "bringing America together" means saying that those who disagree with his agenda for America are hijackers or warmongers. Uniting the country means adopting his liberal agenda and abandoning any conflicting beliefs.

But right now everyone is talking about how eloquent of a speaker he is and -- yes -- they're talking about his race. Those should never be the factors on which we base our choice for president. Mr. Obama's radical agenda sets him far outside the American mainstream, to the left of Mrs. Clinton. It's time to talk about the real Barack Obama. In an election of firsts, let's first make sure we elect the person who is qualified to be our president in a nuclear age during a global civilization war.

Kind of scary, wouldn't you think--- Remember--God is good, and is in time, on time--every time. According to The Book of Revelations the antiChrist is: The anti-Christ will be a man, in his 40s, of MUSLIM descent, who will deceive the nations with persuasive language, and have a MASSIVE Christlike appeal....the prophecy says that people will flock to him and he will promise false hope and world peace, and when he is in power, will destroy everything. Is it OBAMA??
I STRONGLY URGE each one of you to repost this as many times as you can! Each opportunity that you have to send it to a friend or media outlet...do it! If you think I am crazy. Sorry but I refuse to take a chance on the "unknown" candidate.

STOP NEIGHBORHOODS FROM BECOMING A THIRD WORLD (reprinted from "Letters To The Editor" section of the May 20th Edition of the Henderson Green Valley View)

I'm responding to recent letters submitted by Vicki Norton, April 22 ("Letters to the Editor," View Neighborhood Newspapers), and Mr. Michael Pearlmutter, April 29 ("Letters to the Editor," View Neighborhood Newspapers), to the Sunrise View regarding the decline and degradation of their neighborhoods. I, too, have identical problems with neighbors who do not care about city code rules, and quite a few are not concerned about communicating due to language barriers.

For some 10 years, I've complained to all local agencies as Mr. Pearlmutter did, and I get the same run around from agency to agency and end up where I began. I will say, though, the Las Vegas City Code Enforcement Division does an outstanding job on enforcing "legit" complaints, but this agency is overwhelmed with calls about code breakers.

I've lived in my home 30 plus years, and I'm so depressed to see my area turning into a third-world country neighborhood. I'm too old to move, I, too, own my home, but I alone cannot win a losing battle, the same battles Ms. Norton and Mr. Pearlmutter are having. If one lives in an area going down, and there are no soldiers to assist on keeping areas decent, the battle is lost. It's a shame how various areas begin to degrade and if it goes on and on, it becomes too late to save it.

I'm at the southeast corner of Pecos (Road) and Owens (Avenue), and I stand alone; therefore, I'm stuck as the other two citizens are, Ms. Norton and Mr. Pearlmutter. Anyone else care to get involved and/or have solutions to cure neighborhoods becoming blighted, as Ms. Norton stated in her letter of complaints? Step forward.

KEEP UP THE FIGHT FOR A BETTER LAS VEGAS NEIGHBORHOOD (reprinted from "Letters To The Editor" section of the April 29th Edition of the Sunrise View)

My sympathies go out to Ms. Norton ("Letters to the Editor: Panorama subdivision of Sunrise no longer nice," View Neighborhood Newspapers, April 22). We have been fighting a similar problem, in Las Vegas, for the past several years. We have tried the homeowners association, police, mediation and animal control. Quite frankly, no one seemed to care or be able to do anything about it. However, I just found out through the District Attorney's office that a court date has finally been scheduled in October. This would make it three years since our first complaint. Things have somewhat improved since the offending party finally realized that the city, in this case, is going to get serious.

They say the wheels of justice turn slowly, but there is no excuse for something like this to take this long. It would amaze you to hear the excuses that each named agency gave us for not being able to react. Keep at it, Vickie, as I'm sure there are plenty of others with the same complaint that just gave up. And another thing that our county and city officials don't realize is the animosity that builds up over this period of time between neighbors. It's not a healthy situation.

PANORAMA SUBDIVISION OF SUNRISE NO LONGER NICE (reprinted from "Letters To The Editor" section of the April 22nd Edition of the Henderson Green Valley View)

I read the reader's view section of the Sunrise (View) Neighborhood newspaper and decided to write to you about my concerns for my neighborhood. I was one of the first residents in the Panorama subdivision 15 years ago. In the beginning it was a nice neighborhood, but in the last few years it has gone downhill, and quickly. The amount of trash on the streets, lack of supervision of the children by their parents and the number of animals I see roaming loose tends to destroy neighborhoods. I try and walk my dog every evening, but this is getting harder to do. The amount of dog feces on the sidewalks and the broken glass is almost impossible to get around. I cannot believe a dog owner would allow their dog to defecate on the sidewalk and then not clean it up. It makes me wonder how these people live in their own homes. My belief is your dwelling is just a small part of your home, and your neighborhood is the remainder. Would you leave feces on your living room floor? Would you allow your children to break bottles in your backyard? That's what you're doing when you don't pick up after your animal, or supervise your children. The attitude of it's not in my yard so why should I care doesn't fly. When you allow your neighborhood to become trashy and don't do anything about it, you are the problem. Your property values decrease, vandalism goes up, and it becomes an invitation to continue the behaviors. I pick up trash almost every day, but I can only do so much. It's time we all started taking pride in our homes and stop the behaviors now. I even had an acquaintance, not knowing where I lived, make the comment about this side of town being the "slums." Right now that isn't true, but if we don't do something, and soon, it will be.

There are African Americans, Mexican Americans, Asian Americans, Arab Americans, Native Americans, etc. ... and then there are just - Americans.

You pass me on the street and sneer in my direction. You Call me 'White boy,' 'Cracker,' 'Honkey,' 'Whitey,' 'Caveman,' ... and that's OK. But when I call you Kike, Towel head, Camel Jockey, Beaner, Gook, or Chink, ... you call me a racist.

You say that whites commit a lot of violence against you, so why are the ghettos the most dangerous places to live?

You have the United Negro CollegeFund. You have Hispanic History Month. You have Martin Luther King Day. You have Asian History Month. You have Black History Month. You have Cesar Chavez Day. You have Ma'uled Al-Nabi. You have Yom Hashoah. You have Kawanza. You have the NAACP. And you have BET.

If we had WET (White Entertainment Television) ... we'd be racists.
If we had a White Pride Day ... you would call us racists.
If we had White History Month ... we'd be racists.
If we had any organization for only whites to 'advance' OUR lives, ... we'd be racists.

We have a Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, a Black Chamber of Commerce, and then we just have the plain Chamber of Commerce. Wonder who pays for that?

If we had a college fund that only gave white students scholarships ... you know we'd be racists. There are over 60 openly-proclaimed Black-only colleges in the US , yet if there were 'White-only Colleges' ... that would be a racist college.

In the Million-Man march, you believed that you were marching for your race and rights. If we marched for our race and rights, ... you would call us racists. You are proud to be black, brown, yellow and red, and you're not afraid to announce it. But when we announce our white pride ... you call us racists.!

You rob us, carjack us, and shoot at us. But, when a white police officer shoots a black gang member or beats up a black drug-dealer who is running from the LAW and posing a threat to ALL of society ... you call him a racist.

I am proud. ... but, you call me a racist. Why is it that only whites can be racists?

What Will Get Me To Vote?

The day we get a candidate to get up and pledge the following ...

As you all know, the defeat of the Iraq regime has been completed. Since congress does not want to spend any more money on this war, our mission in Iraq is complete. When elected I will give the order for a complete removal of all American forces from Iraq. This action will be completed within 30 days.

Upon completion of this action, I will then begin taking the following actions. First, I will make two lists - one with the names of countries which stood by our side during the Iraq conflict. This list, as you know, will be short. The United Kingdom, Spain, Bulgaria, Australia, and Poland are some of the countries listed there.

The other list will contain every one not on the first list. Most of the world's nations will be on that list. Both of these lists will be published for the world to see.

Upon their publication, foreign aid to those nations on List 2 will cease immediately and indefinitely. The money saved during the first year alone should pretty much pay for the costs of the Iraqi war. THEN EVERY YEAR THERE AFTER, IT'll GO TO OUR SOCIAL SECURITY SYSTEM SO IT WONT GO BROKE IN 20 YEARS.

The American people are no longer going to pour money into third world Hellholes and watch those government leaders grow fat on corruption. Need help with a famine? Wrestling with an epidemic? Call France.

In the future, together with Congress, I will work to redirect this money toward solving the vexing social problems we still have at home. On that note, a word to terrorist organizations. Screw with us and we will hunt you down and eliminate you and all your friends from the face of the earth. Thirsting for a gutsy country to terrorize? Try France or maybe China.

I will order the immediate severing of diplomatic relations with France, Germany, and Russia. Thanks for all your help, comrades. We are retiring from NATO as well. I will instruct the Mayor of New York City to begin towing the many UN diplomatic vehicles located in Manhattan with more than two unpaid parking tickets to sites where those vehicles will be stripped, shredded and crushed. I don't care about whatever treaty pertains to this. You creeps have tens of thousands of unpaid tickets. Pay those tickets before I'm elected or watch your precious Benzes, Beamers and limos be turned over to some of the finest chop shops in the world. I love New York

A special note to our neighbors. Canada is on List 2. Since we are likely to be seeing a lot more of each other, you folks might want to try not pissing us off for a change. Mexico is also on List 2. Its president and his entire corrupt government really need an attitude adjustment. Due to the actions I will be taking in Iraq, I will have a couple extra thousand tanks and infantry divisions sitting around and guess where I am going to put 'em? Yep, that's right, border security. Those that will be left over will be assigned to the Department of Immigration and be used to round up illegals and send them home to wherever they came from. If they are from countries on List 1, they will be allowed to apply for citizenship. Oh, by the way, the United States will be abrogating the NAFTA treaty upon my election. We are tired of the one-way highway.

Also I will be authorizing drilling for oil in Alaska - which will take care of this country's oil needs for decades to come. If you're an environmentalist who opposes this decision, I will offer you List 2: pick a country and move there.

It is time for America to focus on its own welfare and its own citizens. Some will accuse us of isolationism. I answer them by saying, "darn tootin." Nearly a century of trying to help folks live a decent life around the world has only earned us the undying enmity of just about everyone on the planet. It is time to eliminate hunger in America. It is time to eliminate homelessness in America.

To the nations on List 1, a final thought: Thank you guys. We owe you and we won't forget.
To the nations on List 2, a final thought: You might want to learn to speak Arabic. I hereby place all of tis on the public record, and ask that you all request your Senators and Congressmen do the same. For those unwilling to do so for any reason, find another canidate who will and vote them out of office. It's about time we made changes in line with the best interests of the voting public. George Phillips of Newark, New Jersey was going up to bed when his wife told him that he'd left the light on in the garden shed, which she could see from the bedroom window.

George opened the back door to go turn off the light but saw that there were people in the shed stealing things. He phoned the police, who asked "Is someone in your house?" and he said "no". Then they said that all patrols were busy, and that he should simply lock his door and an officer would be along when available.

George said, "Okay," hung up, counted to 30, and phoned the police again. "Hello, I just called you a few seconds ago because there were people stealing things from my shed. Well, you don't have to worry about them now because I just shot them." Then he hung up.

Within five minute there six police cars, a SWAT Team, a helicopter, two fire trucks, a paramedic and an ambulance showed up at the Phillips' residence and caught the burglars red-handed.

One of the Policemen said to George: "I thought you said that you'd shot them!" George said, "I thought you said there was nobody available!" I LOVE IT - Don't mess with old people .
